You might remember me posting about Gabrielle Aplin before. Today she officially releases Home; her new EP on iTunes. This girl's songwriting just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait until the day she releases a full length album because five songs are just not enough. I was so sad to hear that she'll be giving a concert in Dublin while I'm away at school. I just love her new video for the title track. The song Home is incredibly insightful and surprisingly relatable.

Since the posting of this in 2012, Gabrielle Aplin re-recorded Home for her new album English Rain. She also re-shot the video for the song which I've posted below.

I can't decide which one I like best. The production value is obviously better in the new video, and it shows just how much she has advanced in her music. However, I still prefer the old recording of the song and the old video complements the tender, intimate quality of the song itself.  On the other hand, as an "immigrant" in foreign America, I can relate so much to being lost in American vastness which is the premise of the new video.

It's up to you guys. Which is better?

  1. Ok, so I'm officially addicted to her music now!

  2. I love what i see here!

  3. Beautiful song and I love your playlist! I just spent a hour listening and added some songs to my playlist.

  4. So beautiful!
I hope your days are lovely.

  5. Thanks for sharing! I am always looking for new inspiring artists, but find that most of my extra time, as of lately, is spent in blogland. Love stumbling across great recommendations like this!

    Love & Lollies... Jessa

    Confessions of the Cupcake Countessa

  6. Leah, thank you so much for the kind words about my bike. I'm sorry about your dad's house being robbed a while ago. No matter how small of an object they take, it can affect a being for the longest time.
I hope your days have been great!
